Change will not come if we wait for some other person or for some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. — President Obama

If we want to change the world, the time is now. The old world of our parents won’t go down without a fight and we have to be prepared. It’s okay to feel all the feelings that come with today, but remember there is a bigger plan. We’re being called and challenged to stand up, fight, and create a world that is heaven on Earth. Bring light where you go today. Watch your words carefully. Don’t let the future create worry and anxiety in your soul. Take it one day at a time and remember all you have to do is your part. God will take care of the rest.

Today is November 9 and we are all feeling a wide range of emotions. Now, more than ever, we need to take care of ourselves. We have to tend to our hearts, minds, and souls and not let fear, doubt, uncertainty, or worry take hold. We cannot forget we are so privileged to be alive during this time. We need you. This world is so filled with darkness, we desperately need you to shine your light. Please take care of yourself today and rest as the real work is just beginning. We can only serve each other from a place of fullness.

Self-care is so important during this time. No matter what your self-care looks like make it a priority today. Some ideas:

Unplug – Take a hiatus from social media, political articles, and TV. Even if only for a few hours allow yourself a break.

Relax – Take a warm bath, get a massage, light candles; find a way to relax your body and mind. Relax by being in the present moment. Focus only on what you are doing right this second. We create worry and anxiety with our projections of the future. Just relax, breathe, and focus on today.

Move – Negative energy permeates every corner of America and we are all absorbing it. Move this energy out of your body with cardio, yoga, cycling, or even a walk around the neighborhood.

Treat. Yo. Self – Indulge guiltlessly. We place so many restrictions on ourselves. Treat yourself to a movie, to a nice lunch, or even to a cup of coffee from Starbucks. Indulge in the things that make you feel good! Take a dance break today; play your favorite songs. Do what makes you happy.

Pray – Ultimately, true inner peace comes from knowing that there is a Power greater than us directing the play called life. There is a plan. Surrender to the plan instead of resisting. I make “Your will be done” my mantra during times like this. Peace comes from a deep knowing of Divine Providence and understanding that ultimately the Light always wins.

Meditate – Meditation doesn’t have to be a big production. Take some time to sit quietly and focus on your breathing. As thoughts arise, let them go. The goal of meditation is not the absence of thoughts in the mind, but relief from them. You can find info about meditation apps here or you can use this 5 minute YouTube meditation.

The sun will rise tomorrow and we will all survive. Please please please take care of yourself. Guard against the negativity and pessimism. It’s okay to experience it, but don’t let these feelings plant a seed in your heart. Continue to give love, be love, and embody love. Until we bring this world of love here, God bless America.
